Eureka Seven

Fourteen years prior to the beginning of Eureka Seven, Eureka was found in a mine along with the Nirvash typeZERO's archetype and she was immediately brought to Tresor Laboratories for study. It was found that while the typeZERO would not work well with any human at the controls, it responded well to Eureka being the pilot. Soon after that she met Adroc Thurston, who taught Eureka how to walk, speak, interact with others, and pilot the Nirvash. His influence on Eureka was that of a father. After Adroc's dissapearance in the New Era Summer of Love, then the Lieutenant-Colonel Dewey Novak had Eureka placed under the care of his younger brother, Holland, who trained her to be an obedient child soldier. They were both assigned to the the S.O.F. (Special Operations Force) so that the military could use her piloting skills for their benefit. During this time Eureka grew to trust Holland to a degree equivalent to her trust of Nirvash, but she was still emotionally detached and unaware of her sense of self. Then one day, the S.O.F. was given a mission to eliminate all the people living at Ciudades del Cielo under the assumption that they were terrorists for protecting the Coralians. Eureka agreed to participate in the massacre because she believed in Holland. Eureka killed many people but when she finds three children injured and traumatized but still living in the pile of corpses she just killed, she awakens her sense of self for the first time and, realizing that her "targets" were actually people, she decides to protect them. Taking them in the Nirvash, she rendezvous with Holland who was talking to Master Norb of the Vodarac. Later, she joins Holland in a revolt against the United Federation, aiding in stealing the Gekko, an experimental ship, and has since been on the run with him ever since. On the Gekkostate, she becomes the adoptive mother of the three children and a well-respected member of the crew due to her status as the pilot of Nirvash, but she never exhibited any emotions nor did she associated with anyone other than Holland and the children.

Three years after the massacre, upon orders from Holland, Eureka travels to Bellforest in Nirvash to retrieve the Amita Drive under the guise of having Nirvash repaired. She crashes into and destroys the room of Renton Thurston, the 14-year-old son of Adroc, who falls in love with her on first sight. The next morning, while he repairs the Nirvash, Eureka asks Renton if she could borrow the flamethrower in the back, and explains that she feels bad about destroying Renton's room and feels that she must make it up to him. While talking with him, she reveals that she doesn't need a Compac Drive to operate the Nirvash as others do. Renton decides to lend her his Compac Drive and inserts it into its place, saying that he's a professional mechanic who knows that machines have feelings too. Eureka surprises him by saying that that was common sense. She then leaves to borrow the flamethrower and she uses the flamethrower on the remains of Renton's room in order to give it a funeral, much to Renton's dismay. She smiles and laughs upon seeing Renton having his shoes burned trying to put the fire out and then mourning them, and Holland points out that this is the first time Eureka has ever smiled and laughed. Back in the Nirvash, the Compac Drive doesn't work so Eureka tells Renton to take it off since she never needed it before and cannot believe in what she doesn't understand. She goes on to say that just believing in something doesn't mean if something will necessarily come of it, sometimes belief leads to great misfortune and can be hard to believe in anything at all. Renton tries to argue against this, but Axel Thurston interrupts by voicing his realization that Eureka is one of Holland's friends. He then produces a strange device saying that he knows that "this is what Eureka is after". He goes on to tell her that his family was torn to pieces because of this thing, so she can take it but never return. Suddenly Eureka senses missiles flying towards them and tells both Thurstons to hang on. She pilots the Nirvash out of it's restraints and away from the garage before it is destroyed. Nirvash transforms into vehicle mode and the Thurstons are flung off in the process. Unable to stay any longer, the Nirvash transforms and takes off on the ref board. She then engages the oncoming KLFs in combat.

Holland and Matthieu soon try to join her in combat against the KLFs, but they are kept apart. She tries to lose the KLFs to no avail and is suddenly interrupted by Renton's arrival on his Ref Board. Unfortunately Nirvash's slipstream causes Renton to lose his balance and fall so Eureka saves him by navigating the Nirvash under him and catching him. Upon opening her eyes after closing the hatch, she finds Renton clinging to her and credits her for making him perform a Cut-Back-Drop-Turn, and confesses his love to her. She doesn't understand what love means and is confused about his confession. Renton pulls out the Amita Drive, explains about it to Eureka and then and plugs it in. The result is that Nirvash deactivates and Eureka falls unconscious for a few moments. Renton tries to pilot the Nirvash but it doesn't respond until Eureka regains consciousness just enough to put her arms around him and tell him that he can believe in her. Suddenly the Amita Drive activates and the Seventh Swell effect is activated. Renton defeats all the KLFs and falls unconscious. When Holland comes to recover Eureka and Nirvash, he then comments of the power of the Amita Drive. But Eureka tells him that the source of the power was Renton. She then takes Renton back to the Garage. Upon seeing Renton smiling while sleeping, Eureka asks Axel why Renton is smiling and voices her opinion that what Renton did was reckless. Axel tells her that may be but he will still complement Renton because he is "family". Eureka repeats the word questioningly and Axel tells her that she will understand when she becomes a mother. Eureka starts to say something but is interrupted by the arrival of Holland. Eureka witnesses Axel and Holland get into an argument and notices that Renton is awake as well. After Holland talks to Renton, Eureka asks Renton to come with them because Nirvash seems to not work without him, and therefore, she may need him. Renton silently agrees, saying it is due to his desire to believe in Eureka and he has finally found something (Eureka) to live for. After Holland ends a communication with Talho on the Gekko, Holland notices Eureka holding hands with Renton and says that they should get back to the ship, Holland objects and tells them that they would have to make a forced exit.Holland then says that he will read the waves, however Eureka explains that she will read them instead. Holland curiously asks why she wants to as she told him that she wasn't feeling well earlier, but she tells him that she is feeling alot better, much to his surprise, and he agrees. Eureka takes Renton and shows him to feel the waves, and admits she is amused by his behavior and he reminds her of someone she once knew well. While preparing to leave in the Nirvash, Renton asks for three minutes to say goodbye to Axel and they leave. As they fly to the Gekko, Eureka comments to Renton that she has never felt the Nirvash as happy as it is now, and once aboard the Gekko, she introduces him to her adopted children.

Initially, her time with Renton was a difficult transition, as she didn't understand his feelings of love towards her or humanity, and as a result, she didn't reciprocate his feelings. However, his presence in the Gekkostate, caused a tremendous development in her physical and mental state, tot he point where she gradually began to understand human nature and emotions. While she referred to him as a child and found him amusing, she tells him that she finds him interesting and truly enjoyed his companionship. When he is assigned to co-pilot the Nirvash with her, they form a special link together, which they later learn is necessary to activate the amita Drive, awaking the Nirvash, and accessing the full power of the Seven Swell Phenomenon. In order to access the Amita Drive, Eureka and Renton must have an emotional agreement and an equal wish for something. If their feelings are disconnected, the Amita Drive cannot activate, even though there have been a few occasions where Eureka is present yet unconscious and Renton alone is able to awaken the Nirvash. During a brief stop at Ciudades del Cielo, Eureka becomes worried when she sees Renton leave after being assaulted by Holland and goes searching for him. she is attacked by members of the Vodarac who call her a "monster" and "murderer". She then confesses to Renton her role in the massacre, how finding the kids caused her to quit the military, and that the Gekkostate's mission is to atone for their sins and stop the military. She also tells him that she doesn't want to hurt people but needs him to help her pilot Nirvash because she, remorseful for her actions, wants to atone for her sins and Renton is the only other person besides her who can fly Nirvash. Pressured by Renton to confront her problems rather than hide them, they use the Nirvash to stop the military from bombing the city. He tells her that she truly made an atonement and she is the same person she was before, but Eureka cries for the first time in her life and says she started changing from the moment he came into her life. The more she spends time with Renton, the more she started to develop emotions and started to smile and laugh more, and unknowingly developed a need to have by her side. However, this change began to scare her to the point where she questioned herself if it was alright to change because she knows no other way of living or interact with others. She also wondered if the change was more or less benefiting or hurting her partnership with Nirvash as it began to respond more to Renton than her.

The initial primary antagonist early into he series was Anemone, who first attacked them when the Gekkostate investigated an Ariel Coralian. While battling Anemone, she had a strange "dream" with Eureka and Renton, with Eureka trying to find Renton, who eventually met and was ambushed by Anemone. Eureka saves him from being killed, but suffers a physical and mental pain with Anemone. While trying to tend to her, Renton's wish to protect her activates the Nirvash and he is able to return to the Gekko. Several days later, Renton met with Eureka and Anemone within a house in a dream/hallucination. In the form of Nirvash, he defends Eureka from Anemone. Around this time, Eureka notices how Renton's ability to pilot Nirvash is rivaling against hers and becomes jealous; she especially dislikes how he is piloting Nirvash in a style that is not hers. When the Gekkostate arrives at a mine filled with Scub Coral and archetypes, Eureka's mental state begins to decline, which causes a strain on her relationship with Nirvash and she withdraws from the Gekkostate crew. This further influences a decline in her relationship with Renton, which causes her distant herself from him and reject his attempts to reconcile. Furthermore, she begins to question her status as Nirvash's pilot, believing that it has come to favor Renton more than her, and was troubled that it no longer talked to her. She eventually admits her helplessness and offers to let Renton be Nirvash's new pilot. Already depressed by his thoughts that the crew hates him, Renton rejects her. This and other emotional problems unrelated to Renton eventually lead her to conclude that she is hated by Nirvash and the others and, in despair, she removes the Amita Drive from the Compac Drive, which sends her deep into the mine. She allows herself to nearly be absorbed by the Scub Coral, but Renton is able to save her by subconsciously activating a Seven Swell and she is left encased in scub. A Vodarac priest is brought on the Gekko to heal Eureka, even though she loses most of her hair and receives scars from nearly being absorbed. while she recovered, Renton tried to talk to her and profess his love to her, but this scared her and she rejected him. This incident, along with the apparent fact that none of the crew members are concerned about his troubles, leads Renton to leave the Gekko. Once they discover him gone, everyone conspires to make sure Eureka doesn't find out, especially since she seems to have developed an interest in him (evident when she immediately started asking questions about love and why Renton hasn't visited with her). She has a heart-to-heart talk with Gidget and admits that she is confused about her feelings for Renton but wants to tell him so many things she is afraid to say, which leads Gidget to tell her that she is in love with Renton. Eureka becomes more interested in this and continued asking everyone where Renton was but they lied to her about him being gone. However, the ruse doesn't last long, and upon finding out about his departure, Eureka falls into a deep depression, blames herself for forcing him to leave, and discovers a desire to see Renton again. She then takes over the chores he had been assigned to do because "he isn't there" and wears his tracksuit in mourning. The pain of being separated from Renton nearly overwhelms her to the point where she tries to pilot the Nirvash to look for him and breaks down crying when it didn't respond to her pleas. Confronted with the fact that Nirvash needs both Eureka and Renton as pilots to function and seeing Eureka depressed as she missed Renton, Holland promises to bring him back. When he returns empty-handed and decides that their main priority is to change routes because of the anticipating attack from Charles and Ray, Eureka was enraged and asked why he has not found Renton. She correctly accused him of hating Renton and deliberately leaving him behind. When he said she was more important that Renton, Eureka rejected this and, no longer trusting Holland, left the Gekko to go search for him herself, just as he was returning to the Gekko to warn them about the Beams. Instead she found herself in a dangerous situation against Charles and Ray, who try to kill her and attack the Gekko. Renton launched the Nirvash and rescued Eureka, and they finally opened up to each other about their feelings. Eureka declares to Renton that he is truly her partner because she cant do anything without him and said that all along, she wanted to talk to him, and he says the same thing. Since the Gekko's previous way of fighting lead to the deaths of people, Eureka and Renton decide to take a more merciful method of combat by disarming the enemies. Nirvash responded to their feelings by releasing an energy wave that disabled every machine in their path. They then start to talk about how the time they spent apart from each other made them realize that being together is what is most important.

As a result of leaving the Gekko and going into combat without permission, they were sent to the rig with the children, although it was Holland's way to protect them. They were given bulletproof vests and a gun by Moondoggie as the Beams attacked the Gekko. Talho comes to release them and take them to safety just as Ray holds her at gunpoint. Ray then became enraged when she heard the three children call her "mama" and tried to kill her; her hatred for Eureka steams from that Ray became sterile from the effects of the Seven Swell, and because Eureka was piloting the Nirvash when it released the Seven Swell, she blames Eureka for her inability to have a child. Renton, however, tried to reason with Ray and pleaded for her to stop. Charles dies from multiple gunshot wounds from Holland, and Ray detonated a bomb in his body. Ray escaped back to her ship, and while the crew waited for her to attack again, Eureka tried to comfort Renton as he blamed himself for Charles' death and told him she hasn't been able to sleep since she stopped hearing from Nirvash. Renton told her the same thing and Eureka was amazed how much he is like her. Ray tried to destroy the Gekko again a murder-suicide kamikaze attack before she dies herself. Confused over the events, Renton blames himself for the Beams' deaths and expresses his anger at everyone over how they treated him. Now understanding the hardships Renton dealt with for her sake, Eureka comforts him, and they decide to tell each other everything in order to have a stabile relationship. Renton further demanded to know why Holland decided to kill the Beams if it was to protect him, and Eureka replied that due to her choosing Renton as her partner, Holland wants to protect them. They then decide to stay together after realizing they cant bear to be separated again. Although Eureka was happy with being with Renton, she was aware that his return was to reach a reconciliation with her and he still didn't want to rejoin the Gekkostate. She wanted him to stay on the Gekko so they can stay together and was worried about being separated from him again. To repay the crew members for protecting them, Eureka and Renton cooked and cleaned the entire ship, but Talho ruined the moment by explaining the true nature of Eureka - she is a Coralian. Eureka admits to Renton that she didn't tell him sooner about her origins because she was afraid he would reject her, but he said he didn't care about it because she has been special to him since the day they first met. After this, Renton decides to return to the Gekkostate, much to Eureka's joy and relief.

Renton's continuing acceptance of everything about Eureka leads to a much stronger bond of trust, and Eureka comes to realize just how much Renton means to her, to the point where she acknowledges that she is falling in love with him and wants nothing more than to make him happy with her. During their brief visit to Tressor to have the Nirvash repaired and upgraded, Eureka and Renton watched a film about the origins of the Nirvash and Renton learned how Eureka came to be Nirvash's pilot. Eureka tells Renton that she likes being with him because he makes her forget the terrible things she did but she broke down crying because she feels guilty for dragging him into a war and staining his hands with blood. They attempted to share their first kiss but were interrupted when Nirvssh went crazy and rejected the repairs. Eureka insisted to the scientists that Nirvsh didn't want to be repaired to its original form and wanted to change, and she relates how she has changed into a better person. Based on the research from Dr. Bear, Eureka learns that the reason why she has no memories of her past prior to being found is because the Scub Coral deliberately created her with a clean slate so that she can experience human behavior and develop her own human personality for the Scub Coral's benefit in understanding the humans. Prompted by Renton's reaction to the deaths of Charles and Ray, Eureka begins to understand feelings of guilt and regret, especially towards the Ciudades del Cielo massacre. She knows that her past actions led to the deaths of many people, and because she is beginning to understand the human impact of killing and loss, she loses confidence in herself and no longer wished to fight with Nirvash. Renton helps her realize that they can only disarm enemy units and he constantly consoles as she tries to deal with her past sins and take responsibility for them. When Dewey starts releasing the Antibodies to destroy cities and kill people to gain public support, Eureka was saddened and blamed herself because it was her own kind that was killing people. Renton decided to cheer her up by asking her to ride Holland and Talho's longboard with him and she asked him if she was a burden to him, which he said no and they happily rode the longboard in the middle of the sunset. Holland announced that he planned to disband the Gekkostate after completing their final mission: rescue Norb from the military. But the crew decided to stay with him. Before going to the Capital, Holland spoke to Eureka and Renton because he decided to tell Renton about how he met Eureka and Norb. In a carefully planned invasion, they arrived at the Capital to rescue Norb from Dewey, and Eureka and Renton were instructed to break through the city's barrier of defense. Eureka reluctantly agreed to go along with it but in midst of the chaos, she changed her mind and forced the Nirvash into hiding, and broke down to Renton that she was afraid of killing more innocent people and wanted to run away from it all. Renton reacted by hugging her and he will fight in her place due to his own desire to end the war between the humans and Coralians, and this cheered her up and they compeleted the mission by rescuing Norb. After seeing them pilot the Nirvash and appear to be happily in love with each other, Norb ordered Holland to get get them to the Vodarac Shrine, where they could pass over the Great Wall and find a way to end the conflict between the humans and Scub Coral. Eureka becomes ashamed of her scars, and after learning how guys like girls who wear makeup from Gidget, Eureka attempted to use makeup for the first time to look pretty for Renton, but feels humiliated due to using too much of it and Renton tells her that he loves her o matter what she looks like. Overtime, Eureka learns more about human nature, specifically pregnancy and childbirth, which intrigues her. She later finds out that she can also conceive, carry a baby, and give birth like a normal human, which seems to strengthen her desire to have a family with Renton.

Days before their arrival at the Vodarac Shrine, Eureka and Renton talk about what might be behind the Great Wall, and she replies "future" and that his father, Adroc, once told her that. Renton was shocked that she knew his father before he died and was the one who taught her almost everything. This caused him to get upset and shout at her for not telling him sooner, but she was confused due to not understanding family issues and ran away. This caused a misunderstanding among the crew that Renton wanted to have sex with Eureka and she was resistant of him, due to Eureka crying about whether or not she deserved to be with Renton and due to Renton looking at adult magazines for relationship advice. Hilda and Gidget took Eureka aside to talk to her (it is implied that they explained the facts of sex and pregnancy due to her immediately questioning about Talho being pregnant and how Holland was going to be a father), and she finally starts to understand the meaning of family. After reconciling with him, she revealed to him that Adroc released the Amita Drive during the Seven Swell event and his last words were that he had children to protect. This revelation caused Renton, who had thought Adroc abandoned his family for his research, to forgive his father and Eureka thinks that how Adroc treated her was that of a father figure. Shortly afterwards, Norb ordered the crew to play soccer, and even though she never played before, Eureka excelled in the game. She constantly cheered for Renton and once coldly told him to "stop joking around" when he made a mistake, but she later apologized and offered to cover his mistakes, much to his dismay. In the final round, she and Renton stepped on Holland's face to jointly score a goal. As punishment for stepping on Holland's face, they cleaned the hanger and Eureka told Renton that she said "I believe in you" to him during the game but he didn't hear her. She said that she feels miracles seem to happen when he is around and that's why she can believe in him more than anyone.

The Gekko arrived at the Vodarac Shrine in order to get past the Great Wall, hoping to unite the humans and Scub Coral. At first, she refused to meet with the Vodarac because she was afraid they would never forgive her but pressed by Talho, she agreed to go through with the mission. Initially, the crew planned to enter in disguise but an incident with the kids accidentally activating the Nirvash caused them to hastily help Renton, Eureka, Norb, and the kids enter the Vodarac Shrine. Led by Norb, they meet the first Coralian to be born from the Scub Coral, Sakuya. Sakuya tells Eureka her history, including how she fell in love with Norb and their failed attempt to pass over the Great Wall. She helps restore most of Eureka's superficial damage but Eureka requested that her scars remain to remind her of what she's been through. Eureka related to Renton and Norb that Sakuya told her that she and Renton needed to be happy, and Norb encourages her and Renton to pass through the Great Wall and reach the Promised Land. After leaving Sakuya's lair, they were attacked by Anemone and quickly entered the Promised Land to escape from her. They ended up on a coastline and discovered that they have landed on Earth, much to their shock. However, a rift develops between them due to that they don't know what their purpose on Earth is and didn't know how to find a way to return to the Gekko. They wondered around the coastline for a while and came closer to the Scub Command Cluster. Eureka's scars begin to turn green and Coralian physical attributes begin appearing the left side of her body due to her body reacting to the proximity of the Command Cluster. Thinking Renton will reject her changing form, she hid them from him and the kids. When her secret is found out, she ran away but Renton caught up to her and tried to comfort her, but she shouted at him that she is not human and he doesn't understand. Renton retaliated by smashing his own arm with a rock to prove his acceptance of her changing form. Shocked by this, Eureka stopped him and realized that Renton will never abandon her. This emotional moment caused Maurice to lash out at them; at Renton for "taking" Eureka away from him and ruining everything, and at Eureka for running away from her responsibility in taking care of them after killing their real parents. Eureka calmed him down by asking him if he hated her smile and then assured him she still loves him and his siblings. Renton's wound got infected and he developed a high fever, and Eureka and the kids had to take care of him. During this time, she was sad because she felt she wasn't doing enough to help Renton and almost tells Maeter and Linck that she killed their real parents after Maeter has a small recollection of her real mother but the kids insisted that she was their mother regardless. Then, she suddenly grew butterfly-like wings and her left arm became green and pink of Coralian design. After Renton recovered, Eureka was surprised but happy to hear him say he thought she looked beautiful with the wings, prompting her to tell Renton that she loves him for the first time. From that moment, Renton and Eureka start contemplating their future, such as getting married, raising their adopted children, and having children of their own. When they reached the command Cluster, Renton spotted his older sister, Diane, and ran after her, forcing Eureka and the kids to chase after him and were lost in the golden library created by the Scub Coral/ They met with Adroc, who looked after them until Renton returned, and she assured Renton that she would never leave him. When they exited the Command Cluster, Anemone attacked them in order to destroy the Command Cluster. While fighting, Eureka discovered Anemone's feelings of pain and sadness, and convinced Renton to listen and talk to Anemone to help her understand her feelings for Dominic. After Anemone was saved by Dominic's arrival, all seemed at peace until Dewey fired the Oratorio 8 and destroyed the Command Cluster. Immediately afterwards, the Gekko arrived to rescue Eureka, Renton, and the kids, but Dewey's ship also arrived to eliminate the Nirvash with Renton and Eureka. After discussing their options, Eureka and Renton decided to take the kids and merge with the Scub Coral so that the Limit of Questions wouldn't activate. Holland engaged in a gun battle against his brother to end Dewey's madness for good but it ended with Dewey committing suicide. In a surprising twist, his suicide activated the collars Eureka and Anemone had always worn, which were designed to activate a self-destruct sequence that would destroy the Scub Coral if either girl would become the next Command Cluster. Eureka felt a sudden change in her body, and realizing her time with Renton was over, she apologized to him for their failed dream of being together forever and transformed into a Coralian event.

Eureka was inside an artificially created plane, seemingly not Earth due to the fact that it can be seen in the sky. She mentally told herself that she loves Renton and the kids more than anything, but as much as she wants to save them by risking her life, she wants to see them again. Enraged at losing Eureka after going through so much with her, Renton decided to save her on his own. He begged Nirvash to awaken to help him reach her. It reacted by transforming into its' spec-3 form and Renton was easily able to destroy the Antibodies, and his desire to save Eureka allowed him to break through the zone and reach her. Eureka was overjoyed that Renton really came to save her but she tells him that she cant go back. He tells her that if she is making the choice to give up being a Coralain to save the planet, then he will give up being human because he cherishes the planet he met her on. He gives her a flower hair clip and comments how beautiful she is. He then asks her to merge with the Scub Coral with him and she agrees without hesitation, and they kissed for the first time. This activates the Second Summer of Love, in which a different kind of Seven Swell releases rainbow-colored waves and carve their names into the moon. Nirvash ejected Renton and Eureka from the zone and, in a feminine voice, tells them that the Scub Coral has achieved enlightenment and half of it will be departing to an alternate universe in order to prevent the Limit of Questions from happening again. It also tells them to set an example to the rest of the humans by living together and bring forth a new evolution (human-Coralian hybrid children) before it disappears. Eureka and Renton are relieved that they can now live a normal life and, after agreeing to return to Bellforest, share their second kiss before returning to the planet. A year later, the Thurston family record book lists her and the kids as Renton's wife and adopted children, confirming that Renton and Eureka got married. As the children and Axel eagerly await their return, Eureka and Renton are seen together near a lake, holding hands and their foreheads glowing (hers blue and his red) to symbolize their deep connection.

Eureka Seven: AO

Several years after the events in Eureka Seven, Eureka is married to Renton and they have a daughter and son together. It is presumed that they still live in Bellforest with their three adopted children, but much of the events that occurred between the two series is unknown. During her pregnancy with their daughter, Eureka and Renton were warned that high levels of trapar concentrations would affect their child and potentially result in death. Despite their concerns, they chose to carry the baby to term rather than abortion. When Eureka was six months pregnant, Eureka and Renton noticed that most of the Scub Coral was disappearing and began conducting experiments to solve the mystery. When she was six months pregnant, they did an experiment involving the Gekko, when the Coral burst and took Eureka to an alternate universe in the year 2025, where she met her future son, Ao. Ao knew she was his mother, but Eureka was unaware he was her son, despite noticing he had the same hair and eye color as her, because the baby was carrying was a girl. During her time with Ao, they quickly bonded and Eureka spoke a little about her past on the Gekko and her relationship with her husband, Renton. When Ao asked her if her baby's father was a member fo the crew, she was embarrassed but confirmed it, and proceeded to explain that she initially didn't love him because he was immature, a crybaby, and a bit useless, but now she loves everything about him. She also says she truly believes Renton will come for her, even if she doesn't know where she is, and comments that the Nirvash Ao is piloting is similar tot he one Renton is currently building. As Generation Bleu arrives on the Gekko to trieve Ao, Eureka is alone with Hannah, and confides in her that she is afraid of giving birth out of fear that her unborn daughter will hate her. Hannah tells her there is no point of being afraid because Eureka made the decision to fall in love with Renton and have a child with him, and she needs to accept it. Eureka further explains that she is afraid her daughter will hate because her doctors told her about what may happen if a Human-Coralian hybrid child is born in an environment with high levels of trapar, but doesn't specifically say what is is when the Japanese military attacks to capture Eureka and the Nirvash. Ao saved her from being captured by the military and Truth by returning her to her world. As she returned to her world, she finally realized that Ao is her son, who will be born soon after her daughter.

Three months later, Eureka gave birth to a daughter, whom she and Renton named Amber Thurston. As one might expect, they were overjoyed at the birth of their daughter and fulfilling their dream of having a family. When Amber was 3-months-old, she turned as hard as stone and died due to the trapar reaching a high level, and to make matters worst, it is implied that they were told to not have anymore children because their world is, in fact, inhabitable for a child of a human and Coralian. Devastated by the death of his precious baby daughter and enraged that the trapar from the Scub Coral was responsible for her death, Renton decided to destroy the Scub Coral, and Eureka agreed with him. However, they knew that Ao would be born and, still wanting to have a child of their own, searched for a world with little to no trapar so they can raise him. Soon after, Eureka became pregnant with Ao, and they chose the world where she first met Ao to raise him as a family. When the baby's due date was approaching, they traveled to the future of Ao's world in order to prepare for his birth, but instead they were attacked by the Secrets. In order to save Eureka (7 months pregnant) and the baby, Renton forced her into a Scub Burst that would take her to a different time while he stayed behind to prevent any Scub Coral and Secrets from following her. Eureka arrived on the Iwato Jima island in the year 2012, where she was saved by Dr. Toshio Fukai, who took her in. Two months later, Eureka gave birth to her son, whom she and Renton had decided to name Ao Thurston. During the three years she lived in the 21st century, she affectionately and devotedly raised Ao, and waited patiently for Renton to return to them. However, due to her mysterious arrival and appearance, the residents of the island feared and hated Eureka, who dyed her turquoise hair brown to avoid suspicion with no avail. When Ao was two-and-a-half-years-old, Scub Burst became more frequent, and as a result, the American military sought out Eureka due to everyone's belief the Scub Bursts were connected to her. Ao initially believes that his mother was taken against her will because it was the island's residents who handed her over, but it turns out that Eureka went willingly because Ao would die if the Scub Corals and Secrets appeared in his timeline. Before she left, she explained to Toshio that if she didn't go, Renton wouldn't be able to find her and Ao, and Ao would die. During the Okinawa Scub Burst, she was removing the Quartz from the Scub to destroy it when a Secret confronted her, and to save her son and the island, she merged with the Quartz. After no trace of her, besides the Nirvash Mark I, is found, everyone assumed she died in the burst and Ao was placed in Toshio's care as an orphan, and he was renamed Ao Fukai.

However, the present form of Eureka appears numerous times in the series, but in holographic form. Ao encounters his mother in episode 13, appearing the way she was when she disappeared but in holographic form. She explains to him that he needs to send her back to Renton before it's too late or else something bad will happen, and the Secrets are not his true enemy, which confuses him. In episode 14, she appeared to Naru in holographic form, telling her to help Ao destroy the Scub Coral before something terrible happens to him, but the girl ignored her. In episode 17, she appeared to Ao, commenting how much he has grown and explained the cause of her disappearance and current situation: she had intended to take the Quartz to a different time but it resulted in her being in limbo between different timelines. She also points out that his Quartz Gun, which Ao explains can alternate timelines, is the same weapon that Renton has been searching for a long time to save them. she wants him to use it to erase the Scub Coral from history, but ao is reluctant to do that because she may disappear as well due to the fact that she was born from it. In episode 21, she appears to Elena and Maggie, searching for Ao. When she asks for Ao's whereabouts, Elena ignored her and charges at her, but goes right through her. Elena then begs for Eureka to return her to her world, which she describes as "the world with a big heart on the moon", which embarrasses Eureka that Elena saw the moon with her and Renton's names and the heart on it. She explains that Elena is not from her world, but was saved by Eureka from a Scub Burst in 1981, which makes Elena feel guilty for hating Eureka for a reason that was false. Eureka appears in holographic form one last time in episode 23, when she appears on the Trinton ship as Renton arrives. They briefly reunite and speak about Ao and the current situation. Eureka apologizes for her sacrifice but Renton says he should apologize for not stopping the Scubs and Secrets from entering in Ao's world. She comments that Ao has grown into a good and energetic boy and is as honest as Renton, much to his amusement, before she disappears.

Ao initially thinks his parents are trying to destroy the Scub Coral to stop the Scub Bursts from destroying all the lifeforms in his world, but he is later told that he will turn to stone die in the same manner as his older sister as long as Scub Coral exists in his world. Ao is saddened by his parents' sacrifices to protect him, and decides to save them by going back to the time his mother disappeared and reunite her with his father, and send them back to their world. When Ao arrives in 2015, Eureka instantly recognizes Ao and embraces him, and he asks how she knows it's him because he would be still two-years-old at that time. Eureka says she remembers when she first arrived in his world and he returned her to her world before he, in a hazy destroyed Nirvash, told her that he is her son. Renton then arrives, and Ao tells her to leave with his father so he can return them to their world. Eureka refuses to leave Ao, who blames himself for the hardships his parents put themselves through to protect him, but she insists he is wrong because all the events that have happened are due to her and Renton's decision to fall in love and have children, so everything is their responsibility. Ao counters that they have had to sacrifice their lives and happiness to keep him alive, but he wants to repay them by restoring everything they've lost for his sake, and he truly believes he was born to free them from their curse of making sacrifices. Eureka and Renton are deeply saddened because they know they will be separated from Ao forever if they return to their world, but support his decision and bid farewell to their son as he uses the Quartz Gun to erase the Secrets from all timelines. As he sees his parents return to their world, he sees the Earth encased in a circle of trapar and his parents names in a heart on the moon, much to his embarrassment and amazement. After this, Eureka never sees her son ever again.
