Its common knowledge that Renton fell for Eureka at first sight because of her beauty but in logic sense it was infatuation (expected from a naïve 14-year-old boy) and his feelings for eventually turned into real love as he learned more about her hardships. However, what is it about Renton that made him so different than Adroc and Holland that Eureka fell in love with him? All three men risked their lives to protect her, but she barely knew renton while she had known Adroc and Holland for many years. Why would a Coralian girl pick a naïve but good-hearted teenage boy over a kind but paternal-figure hero and a hot-tempered but determined former unit soldier?

If you look at it in some way, the love story between Renton and Eureka is somewhat forbidden due to him being human and her being a coralian. Even Holland was against it, not because of them being different species but because he wanted the partnership with Eureka that Renton had with her. The Scub Coral was treated as the enemy of the humans, so the idea of a union between to the two in order to reconcile would naturally be rejected. Renton also stated that he knew some people would still reject Eureka no matter what they do to show that the Scubs wanted peace.
But, knowing how devoted they are to each other, they could careless what others think of them and would rather be ostracized by those who still don't understand instead of separating. If they are ostracized, so would the rest of their family, including their biological and adopted children. Ao and Amber would suffer being snubbed for their parents' relationship and being hybrids. Renton and Eureka would have to be brave to have their biological children, knowing they too will be rejected by others; evident in AO, when Ao was despised by others for having purple eyes and being the child of a blue-haired woman.
